Most garage door faults fall into one of four categories, and most of them we can fix in a single visit. If your door has stopped working and you're not sure why, the descriptions below will usually tell you what's happened. Or just ring us and tell us what noise it made.
The door suddenly won't lift, or lifts a few inches and stops. You may have heard a loud bang like a gunshot from the garage. This is the most common garage door failure and the most urgent, because a door with a broken spring is effectively a very heavy object held up by nothing.
Spring replacement →The door is crooked, jammed at an angle, or one side has dropped. Often follows a spring failure, or a knock from a car. Keep operating it and a straightforward cable job turns into a panel replacement.
Cable & track repair →The door works by hand but the remote does nothing, or the motor runs without moving the door. Sometimes a fault, often just a setting or a worn drive gear.
Motors & openers →Nothing has broken yet but it's grinding, shuddering, or getting slower. A service at this stage costs a fraction of what the repair will cost after it fails.
Garage door servicing →Emergency callouts. A garage door that won't close leaves your house open, and a door with a broken spring isn't safe to force. Call 021 0867 9712 and we'll tell you honestly whether it needs someone today or whether it can wait until tomorrow at standard rates.
